In summer of 2010, FHQ Video Director Dan Cahill, and I embarked together on a few trips to the north of Wisconsin for the purposes of fishing and shooting some high-definition video. After months of editing and putting all the pieces in place, we finally have our first episode out for release. We have many more with better ideas scheduled to come in 2011.
DVD and blueray copies will be made shortly and passed out amongst our closest friends and partners.
For now I am in the process of promoting this, and including it within the promotional packets I am sending out for sponsorship – for the website, for magazine, for ourselves, and now with the video. When it comes to advertising for promotional partners, I think we have a lot to offer for the fishing industry. Exposure is what we essentially want, and now we are getting it.
For now I will let the video explain the story of what we hope to bring. Video was shot in HD, so be best to let it load completely before fully viewing it. And if your computer monitor supports HD, then more power to you as you’ll get your money’s worth. It is in full television format, set at 24 minutes long with additional time being reserved for commercial spots and advertisements. For now, we are on the website and catering for online audiences. Who knows, however, maybe someday we’ll get that very cool showtime for network television.
According to Dan, some encoding and audio levels still need adjustments for maximum online viewing quality. He put the full uncompressed project on a thumb drive and plugged it into his PS3 to view it on a 46 inch tv this morning and he was VERY happy with the quality on it. Full high bitrate HD really is stunning.
Dan did one hell of a job with this. Being a graduate from Chicago’s Columbia College in video production, this shouldn’t really surprise anyone. Good things are set to come.
Enjoy!
