Cappy’s Pond
Stories from an American Angler by Kirk Cahill.
Kirk Cahill, a multi-species angler and featured columnist for Fishing-Headquarters Magazine, joins the FHQ.com Writers Network with his very own blog. Kirk tells us a little bit about himself:
Kirk B Cahill, 43, has spent most of his life fishing the lakes and ponds of northern Illinois. From his early youth, Kirk began to develop a keen understanding of the anatomy of a local pond.
While chasing largemouth bass, bluegill and crappie, with his father Dan, Kirk learned about life in the great outdoors and the relationships that are built there. A 1994 move to Elgin, Illinois placed Kirk (or Cappy as he likes to be called) within minutes of the Fox River. There he added fly fishing to his game, while targeting smallmouth bass, walleye, and carp. He frequently visits Canada, Minnesota, and Wisconsin to fish for northern pike, musky and other game fish.
Over the last 5 years, Kirk has found a passion for ice fishing. His blog site Cappy’s Pond was started in November of 2009, and in October 2010 he became part of the Outdoor Blogger Network. Kirk currently coaches the St. Viator H.S. Bass Fishing Team from Arlington Heights, Illinois, and is a Field Service Technician at Toshiba Business Solutions.
